Private REITs aren’t publicly traded on a stock exchange and are unregistered with the SEC. Although their legal construction is totally different from non-public equity funds, they share many similarities. Access to personal REITs is mostly limited to high net value accredited traders. Investment minimums are at the discretion of the REIT managers, but they are normally substantial.
